The New York Knicks battled a short-handed Brooklyn Nets side on Wednesday, and it was an opportunity for Knicks rookie Immanuel Quickley to face off against one of his biggest idols in Kevin Durant.

After the game, the 21-year-old point guard shared his experience in trying to defend Durant, which according to him, was a truly surreal feeling:

“The greatest player I've ever played against,” Quickley said of Durant, via Stefan Bondy of the New York Daily News. “He shot one shot on me and it was like a video game.”

This is certainly not the first time we've heard this type of reaction from a young player who faced off against Durant for the first time in their career. KD is easily one of the top players in the game right now—an all-time great, that is—and it is not surprising that he has that type of effect on his opponents.

Durant put on a show against the Knicks on Wednesday, finishing with 26 points on 10-of-18 shooting, to go along with three triples, three rebounds, six assists, and two blocks in 30 minutes of action. The former league MVP led the Nets to a 116-109 victory over their crosstown rivals in the Knicks.

Quickley himself had a tremendous outing for the Knicks in this one, racking up 19 points off the bench on 7-of-15 from the floor. He also came away with an experience of a lifetime against Durant—one that he will surely cherish for the rest of his career.
