Where to get Modern Horizons 3 Alternate Art Cards – Product Guide
The easiest way for us to understand where to get Modern Horizons 3 alternate art cards is by simply defining what you can expect to get from each pack. For MH3, the different packs available are Play Boosters, Collector Boosters, and Collector Sample Packs.
Second, we also need to know what alternate art cards are there. There are your Regular Foil, Textured Foil, and Foil Etched card treatments. Ripple Foils can only be found in Collector Edition Commander Decks.
For different card frames, we have Borderless, Extended, Retro, Full Art Lands, Profile, and Borderless Frame Break treatments. Finally, in terms of special cards, we have Serialized Eldrazi Titans and Special Guests (SPG) cards.

With that information in mind, players can already get good-looking alternate artwork cards just from the Play Boosters. Fans would remember that the old Draft Booster and the more recent Set Booster packs were merged into what is now known as Play Boosters. These are draftable booster packs priced similarly to the set booster packs thanks to the chance of pulling alt art cards from them.
MH3 Alt Art Card Drop Rates in Collector Booster Packs
If you're the kind of person who wants to ensure they're getting specific types of cards from their packs (but at that point, just buy singles, maybe?), then you should be interested in the drop rates of the different treatments and special border cards.
