Former NBA player Mirza Teletovic believes that more European players in the NBA will consider going back home in the coming years similar to what Nikola Mirotic did this summer.

Mirotic made a surprising decision to return to Europe despite the fact that he was expected to get offers from NBA teams this offseason. He proved last season that he can still contribute at a high level, when he averaged 16.7 points and 8.3 rebounds in 32 games with the New Orleans Pelicans.

Mirotic signed a four-year contract with FC Barcelona. Reacting to the decision of Mirotic to return to Europe, Teletovic sounded that he was not surprised. The former Brooklyn Nets, Phoenix Suns, and Milwaukee Bucks forward said that Mirotic's move is just the first of many more to come in the next several years.

“There will be more and more players who will come back,” Teletovic said on Radio Vitoria via EuroHoops. “I don’t understand how young people decide to go because you know that the first three years you will stay on the bench or in the G League.”

Mirotic played six seasons in the NBA, where he averaged 12.3 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Aside from the Pelicans, the 28-year-old sweet-shooting power forward also played for the Chicago Bulls for four seasons, and the Milwaukee Bucks for 14 games last year.
