Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum was recently held out of action for more than two weeks after testing positive for COVID-19. Tatum finally rejoined the team in their game against the Chicago Bulls on Monday night.
After a 119-103 victory, Tatum detailed his experience with the coronavirus and how he felt in the last couple of weeks away from the team:
Tatum: “I can’t even lie, it was tough. Your initial reaction, once you find out, I don’t know if it’s panic, but you definitely worry because you read about how many people it’s affected and how many didn’t make it.” https://t.co/OKTCzHKL5O

Tatum last took the floor back on Jan. 8 against the Washington Wizards, notching 32 points and five rebounds en route to a 116-107 victory. After finding out that he tested positive for COVID-19, Tatum was mandated to self-quarantine, which forced him to miss the team's next five games.

In addition, the Celtics also had three more tilts postponed to a later date after they failed to field the required minimum of eight active players on their roster. Boston went 2-3 in the five-game stretch without Tatum at the helm.
On Monday night against the Bulls, the 22-year-old didn't skip a beat with 24 points, four rebounds, and five assists. His running mate in Jaylen Brown also added 26 points and five rebounds for the Celtics, who controlled the entire game and cruised to victory to improve to 10-6 on the season.
Boston is hoping its COVID-19 issues are now behind them. With Jayson Tatum now back on their roster, the Celtics will aim for their third consecutive victory when they visit the San Antonio Spurs on Jan. 27.
