Boston Celtics point guard Kemba Walker only made the playoffs twice during his eight-year run with the Charlotte Hornets. The All-Star guard never played with another All-Star with the Hornets. A washed up Dwight Howard doesn't count.

With the Celtics, Walker will be playing with two talented youngsters in Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, and a former All-Star in Gordon Hayward who is looking to get back to his All-Star form after struggling this past season coming off that gruesome ankle injury he suffered in 2017-18.

Walker is excited to join the Celtics, not because he's going to be able to go on a deep playoff run, but because the offensive burden isn't going to be on his shoulders every possession like it was in Charlotte.

“[My role] does [need to change], and I’m looking forward to it,” Walker said on the latest Celtics Talk Podcast. “It’s something new. It’s not as big of a burden, I feel like, on my back. It’s like, I had to be perfect every night in Charlotte. Had to be. I had to have a great game, offensively, if not, it will be a struggle for us to win. Like I said, with the personnel, we have on this team and the way these guys can score, it’ll be different.”

On the Celtics, Kemba Walker won't have to average 25.6 points per game for Boston to win. A lesser load on Walker's body during the regular season will be beneficial to him once the postseason comes around so he can be fresh.

NBA fans are looking forward to seeing Walker on a winning team for the first time in his career.
