Los Angeles Lakers rookie point guard Lonzo Ball has gotten off to a historically bad start to the 2017-18 NBA season from a shooting perspective. Unfortunately, his scoring woes have carried over into the Lakers' four-game road trip thus far.

Prior to their rematch versus the Washington Wizards, the Lakers faced arguably their toughest test of the year in superstar Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics. Despite Ball's struggles from the field, he received heavy praise from the four-time All-Star following the 107-96 loss.

According to Serena Winter of Lakers Nation, Lonzo Ball said Irving's comments meant a lot to him:

“Very meaningful, especially someone of his caliber, for him to say that about me, that means a lot.”

The Lakers rookie finished with just nine points while hitting four of his 15 field goal attempts, however, Kyrie Irving was still impressed with his ability to push the ball in transition and run the offense. Lonzo Ball was also formidable on the defensive end with four blocks and a steal. Unfortunately, his all-around game has yet to kickstart any type of scoring rhythm.

As a result, the former UCLA product has received scathing criticism from seemingly everyone but his opponents. Irving is just the most recent example of praise from a fellow player.
