Guard Anfernee Simons of IMG Academy has decided to forego his college eligibility and declared for the NBA Draft, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Simons is ranked as the 19th overall prospect in ESPN's most recent mock draft and will be represented by super-agent Drew Rosenhaus and Bobby Petriella.
Simons will turn 19 in June and is eligible for this upcoming 2018 NBA Draft as a post-graduate, a year removed from his high school graduation in 2017.
“After discussing the matter with my parents, I have decided to forego the opportunity to play in the NCAA and to instead enter the NBA Draft,” Simons said, according to Jonathan Givony of ESPN. “I am very thankful for the support I received at IMG Academy and from the NCAA coaches who recruited me. I am ready and excited to pursue my dream of playing in the NBA.”
A Florida native, Simons possesses quickness and athleticism while sporting a solid 6-foot-4 frame at his natural shooting guard position, though he would likely be appropriated as a point guard at the next level.

Though springing a few more inches could change that approach if his shooting ability and core strength prove to be enough to stick to his natural shooting guard position.
The young Simons had received interest from schools like Louisville, Memphis, Tennessee, South Carolina, and North Carolina State.
