The Iowa Hawkeyes are one of the hottest teams in the country, and that showed in a big way in a historic Big Ten Tournament performance against the Northwestern Wildcats on Thursday. The Hawkeyes set a number of records in a 112-76 victory.

Iowa's offense took flight from the very start. The Hawkeyes put up a ridiculous 64 points in the first half, including 11 3-pointers:

Iowa finished the game in fitting fashion, with deep bench player Luc Laketa banking in a 3-pointer to put the cherry on top of the dominant performance.

When it was all said and done, the Hawkeyes shot 43-of-70 (61.4%) overall and 19-of-29 (65.5%) from 3-point range. They also grabbed 16 offensive rebounds, though they did turn the ball over 15 times.

Star forward Keegan Murray led the way with 26 points on 11-of-16 shooting, making all three of his triples in the process. Four other Hawkeyes scored in double figures, with Jordan Bohannon pouring in 17 points and five 3-pointers. 10 different Iowa players hit a 3-pointer.

The fifth-seeded Hawkeyes will now face fourth-seeded Rutgers in the quarterfinals of the Big Ten Tournament, which saw a thrilling game to open play Thursday between Indiana and Michigan. This is going to be an extremely competitive tournament, with no clear favorite to take home the crown after Illinois and Wisconsin shared the Big Ten title.

Iowa could easily wind up winning this whole thing, which would give them even more momentum heading into the NCAA Tournament.
