Less than 24 hours after the Florida Panthers put an explanation point on the 2023-24 season by winning the Stanley Cup, the Hockey Hall of Fame announced that former NHL stars Pavel Datsyuk, Jeremy Roenick and Shea Weber were elected to the shrine as key members of the 2024 class.

Datsyuk was known for his ability to deke opposing goalies and those assigned to defend him with amazing moves that often left those players without a clue on how to stop him. He won the Lady Byng Trophy for gentlemanly play three times, and he represented Russia in the Olympics five times. He was part of the 2018 Russian gold-medal-winning team.

Campbell was the NHL's senior vice president of hockey operations for 25 years, and he was known as the league's chief disciplinarian for many years. He was one of NHL commissioner Gary Bettman's key assistants throughout his run in the league.

Campbell also played 11 years in the NHL and was an assistant coach on the 1994 New York Rangers team that won the Stanley Cup. He spent another four years as the team's head coach
