Dustin Brown has one more chance at winning the championship with the Los Angeles Kings. Following the team's 2022 playoff run, the right-winger is hanging up the skates for good. The Kings announced Brown's upcoming retirement Thursday afternoon.
According to the release, there will be an official press conference Friday at Toyota Sports Performance Center in El Segundo at 11:30 a.m. The conference will feature Brown, Kings GM Rob Blake, president Luc Robitaille, and head coach Todd McLellan.
Brown's retirement comes after 18 seasons in the NHL. The star spent his entire career as a key contributor to the Kings. Brown led the team to a Stanley Cup victory as the alternate captain in 2012 and earned another championship in 2014.

Fortunately for Brown, his NHL career isn't over just yet. He still has a chance to win another championship with Los Angeles. The Kings will take on the Edmonton Oilers in the first round of the 2022 NHL Playoffs.
Throughout the teams' four meetings this season, the Oilers have the upper hand with three wins and only one loss. Brown and the Kings have a lot of stiff competition ahead of them, but another Stanley Cup win would be a great way for the 37-year-old to enter retirement.
