The Colorado Avalanche are a win away from hoisting the Stanley Cup for the first time in over 20 years after Nazem Kadri delivered a controversial overtime goal on the road in Game 4 of the 2022 Stanley Cup Finals series against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Somewhere way, way, way out of Florida during the game was Chicago Blackhawks star Patrick Kane, who certainly knows how it feels like to score a massive goal in the Stanley Cup Final that didn't get recognized as a score right away.

Hearing from so many people about Kadri's goal brought back memories for Kane, who found the back of the net in overtime of Game 6 of the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals against the Philadelphia Flyers. And just like Kadri's goal for the Avalanche, Kane's game-winning score for the Blackhawks did not light the lamp immediately, as it took a bit of a time to find where the puck was.
“Pretty cool to hear from different people tonight and bring back memories. That was 12 years ago now,” Kane said. “You can definitely understand the similarities with both goals, for sure.”
The Avalanche, who are up 3-1 in the series against Tampa Bay, can kiss the Cup at home with a win this coming Friday.
