Despite a recent hiatus while still being a member of the Houston Rockets, forward Carmelo Anthony is still widely expected to find a suitor in today's NBA, though there is no clarity if he will be traded before the Feb. 7 trade deadline, according to Sam Amick of The Athletic. Anthony still has “multiple choices available” and is expected to pick one before the deadline.

It's still unclear if he will be traded to the team of his choice or if a buyout situation will be worked out for him to reach his desired destination, “but there are strong signs that he will play in the NBA again.”

Anthony's tenure with the Rockets came to a sudden and sour end after 10 games with the team, followed by a 1-of-11 shooting game against his former team, the Oklahoma City Thunder. He was then placed in limbo and agreed to remain away from the team.

Ever since, Carmelo Anthony has been working out near his home in New York, posting several workout videos at Lifetime Athletic Fitness alongside longtime trainer Chris Brickley, as he often did in the summer.

Draftmate and longtime friend LeBron James has expressed prior interest in having him as a teammate with the Los Angeles Lakers, but going into the trade deadline with a full roster could pose some problems if they're hoping to acquire him.

Furthermore, the Rockets could be competing for a playoff spot with the Lakers at the end of this season, and giving out an asset that would help them through a buyout process would be one that stings for a while.
