Anyone who's dreaming of a Boston Celtics-Philadelphia 76ers trade involving Jaylen Brown and Ben Simmons can forget about it. Simmons has been a constant talking point in trade rumors and there are also some people who are bringing up the name of Brown as a potential trade asset for the Celtics, but Brian Robb of MassLive.com has insiders believing that Boston is not going to ship the forward to their divisional rival in exchange for the disgruntled Sixers star.

Multiple league sources were adamant to MassLive.com that the Celtics have no interest in moving the All-Star Brown in the interim, particularly with him under team control for two more seasons at a below-market deal.

Brown is under Celtics control until the end of the 2023-24 season, thanks to a four-year rookie extension deal worth $106.3 million he signed with Boston back in 2019.

Given the current Simmons situation, it's hard to think any team giving up someone with a relatively friendly contract and at the talent level of Brown for Simmons, who's become quite a mystery — an expensive mystery that is due to earn at least $35 million from the 2022-23 NBA season until the expiration of his current deal at the conclusion of the 2024-25 campaign.
