The Philadelphia 76ers have reportedly shown an interest in a potential Jaylen Brown-Ben Simmons swap with the Boston Celtics, but the brief negotiations they've had could be false.

According to Celtics beat writer Mark Murphy of The Boston Herald, there have been absolutely no discussions between the two sides.

It's hard to know what's true and not, but it would be hard to imagine the C's parting ways with Brown. In the initial report, that was who the Sixers were wanting, but there was no indication that Boston was even willing to give him up.

The Celtics are off to a dismal 4-6 start and have lacked chemistry. They've also had internal problems, with Marcus Smart calling out the two franchise stars in Jayson Tatum and Brown. As for Simmons, his value is extremely low right now but Philly has already made it pretty clear they want a boatload in return for him. Brown probably wouldn't even be enough.

The Aussie has yet to even play this season and continues to get mental health treatment. A change of scenery is likely the best-case scenario for him, but it remains to be seen if the Celtics would cut ties with big pieces.
