The Minnesota Vikings have some unfinished business to take care of in the 2018 NFL season. Fortunately, it appears they will be able to welcome the return of running back Dalvin Cook.

There has been nothing but positive updates on Cook's rehabilitation process. According to Chris Tomasson of the Pioneer-Press, he has been cleared for the start of training camp:

Nice work by Dalvin Cook in his rehab to the point where Vikings say he will be a full go as training camp ramps up

Minnesota selected Cook with the 41st pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Needless to say, it did not take him long to establish himself as one of the best rookie running backs in the league. The Vikings felt comfortable enough to make him the lead back ahead of running backs Latavius Murray and Jerick McKinnon.

Cook finished the 2017 campaign with 354 yards and two touchdowns while hauling in 11 receptions for 90 yards in just four games. Unfortunately, his stellar rookie year was cut short by the torn ACL he suffered in Week 4. It seems he is ready to assume his rightful spot as the team's workhorse.

There is no doubt that Cook could be poised for a big year. The Vikings revamped their offense with the signing of quarterback Kirk Cousins. However, it is safe to assume that they will still rely heavily on the run game like they did last year. With McKinnon now out of the picture, Cook may potentially take on a bigger role in the passing game as well.
