Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins missed last week's game as he was placed on the reserve/COVID list. Cousins, who is reportedly in line to start the Vikings' Week 18 contest against the Chicago Bears, per Chad Graff of The Athletic, spoke to reporters on a variety of topics, including his future in Minnesota. With rumors swirling about big changes in Minnesota, Cousins made a bold declaration about his future.

That is quite the statement from Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins. Cousins, who sure sounds pretty definitive, is saying that he wants to spend the rest of his career in Minnesota.

The Vikings would be wise to stick with Cousins, who clearly wants to be there, as the veteran signal-caller has been one of the better quarterbacks in the league, despite a few gaffes, over the last few years.

Cousins has thrown for 25 or more touchdown passes and 15 or fewer interceptions in each of his four seasons with Minnesota while leading the team to a playoff win in one of those seasons.

While there are more successful signal-callers in the NFL, the Vikings might be hard-pressed to do better than Cousins, as acquiring a better quarterback would likely require the team gutting its future by trading draft picks.

With questions swirling around the Vikings future, Kirk Cousins made it clear he wants to be a part of said future.
