The Washington Wizards have gotten off to an 0-2 start to begin the season despite impressive production from Bradley Beal. After losing to the Orlando Magic on Saturday night, Beal blamed Washington's slow start on the lack of effort from the players on the Wizards. That, and Orlando winning their matchup the past few seasons.

“I think it was an effort thing,” Beal said, via the Washington Post's Ava Wallace. “The last couple years Orlando has had our number, and I think it’s just from the standpoint of them playing harder than we do. … We just have to be more solid and disciplined and understand that, in the last five, six minutes of the game, it’s time to lock in.”

The Magic would take down the Wizards on Saturday night 130-120, with three players on Orlando's roster posting 20 or more points. With the loss to Orlando on Saturday, Washington has now lost their past four meetings to the Magic, dating back to the beginning of last season.

In Washington's latest defeat to Orlando, the Wizards had no answer for Nikola Vucevic and were unable to keep the Magic off the glass. Vucevic notched 22 points, 17 rebounds, and three assists. Altogether, Washington was also outrebounded 54-43, which is something that can be remedied with more effort from players.

Luckily for Beal and the Wizards, they get another crack at beating the Magic on Sunday, playing them twice in two days. Despite wanting to let his play do the talking for him, Beal is making it clear to his teammates he wants to see them play harder moving forward.
