The Washington Wizards have been a wild card in the NBA's regular season. While the Wizards aren't particularly a championship contender, led by John Wall, they are somewhat of a perennial Eastern Conference elite team.

The Wizards are currently in fourth place in the Eastern Conference with a 29-22 record. This has been impressive since the Wizards have lost John Wall, who underwent a successful knee surgery and is expected to miss up to two months of action weeks.

The Wizards have been noticeably different without their star point guard. In fact, head coach Scott Brooks commented on the team's play with and without Wall.

“I mean, I know that's been a hot topic the last couple of days. First of all, I mean, anyone who thinks we're better without John hasn't seen John play. [They] don't really know what we do as a team. He's a superstar player. He carried our team in a lot of the success we had last year because of the way he plays. He's been battling. His knee's been sore for a big part of the year, and he's still stayed with it and did the best he could play. We have to play different. We don't have a superstar, All-Star point guard, and there is only a few guys in the league that can do what he does… I don't pay much attention to that. I know our team is focused to win every game and try to put us in a great position to have a great playoffs scene.”

Since Wall is expected to miss at least two months in recovery, the Wizards will have to adapt and play with determination if they are going to put themselves in the best position during the postseason. Hopefully, the Wizards can get it done in Wall's absence.

Tomas Satoransky has filled in quite well thus far, while Bradley Beal and Otto Porter are both carrying the cudgels for Washington.
