The Chicago Bears are not exactly good this season. As a direct result of the team's failings, head coach John Fox is receiving a ton of heat. Some would argue that he is very much on the hot-seat, with it only being a matter of time before the Bears show him the door.

John Fox, on the other hand, claims to not worry about such things.

‘‘I’ve been doing this too long to ever worry about my job security, and I won’t start any minute going forward,’’ he said.

It is somewhat weird Fox has come under as much scrutiny as he has. While he does deserve the lion's share of second guesses for constantly making strange decisions from the sideline, it isn't like Tom Brady is currently under center for Chicago.

Often times, we connect a coach's greatness — or lack thereof, really — to his win-loss record, while completely ignoring the context surrounding him.

Fox, as an example, was once considered a good coach for the Carolina Panthers. Then that window shut, and he was “not a good coach.” A similar thing happened during his stint with the Denver Broncos, though, John Elway and company were quick to move on from him as soon as it appeared he had a ceiling as a head coach.

The Bears just aren't ready to win a lot of games right now. Not with a rookie gunslinger and young talent all over the roster.

Anyway, none of that actually matters, as John Fox might not be worried about his future, but I am pretty positive Chicago will be showing him the door by the season's end.
