It goes without saying that Chicago Bears defensive end Khalil Mack has received a warm welcome since his arrival. It appears Hall of Famer Brian Urlacher has even gotten in on the action.

Urlacher has expressed heavy praise for Mack on a number of occasions. According to Bears sideline reporter Mark Grote, he even went so far as to text Chicago's new acquisition:

“That's the OG,” Mack said. “I was like damn, that's huge for him to take the time to welcome to Chicago.”

It is encouraging to see that Chicago has pulled out all the stops for Mack. It is easy to see why considering all he had accomplished in his first four seasons with the Oakland Raiders. He is one of the biggest stars in the NFL as well as its highest-paid defensive player. However, even he was taken back by the text.

Brian Urlacher is undoubtedly one of the greatest players in franchise history. He finished his career with eight Pro Bowl selections, four All-Pro teams and was named to the NFL's All-Decade Team for 2000. He finally put the icing on the cake after being inducted into the Hall of Fame this offseason.

Khalil Mack now has an opportunity to become the next iconic Bears player. His debut could not have gone any better after he registered one sack, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery while also taking one interception for a touchdown. Chicago made quite the investment in bringing him over from Oakland. However, it is clear that the move has already started to pay huge dividends.
