The Chicago Bears will host the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs this Sunday in a matchup of two head coaches that have been long-time companions.

Bears head coach Matt Nagy and Eagles head coach Doug Pederson go back a long way, having worked together on Andy Reid's coaching staffs in both Philadelphia and Kansas City.

However, Pederson has always been a step ahead of Nagy, always seeming to be one notch above Nagy on the coaching totem pole.

Now, the two are both head coaches, but Pederson got to something before Nagy once again: a Super Bowl title.

Obviously, Nagy would love to keep following in Pederson's footsteps, as that would lead to a championship:

“We keep following this path here,” Nagy said, according to JJ Stankevitz of NBC Sports Philadelphia. “So I told him at the owners meetings this past offseason that he got that Super Bowl. I’m trying to follow his lead here. He probably doesn’t want to hear that right now. But I’m trying to stick on that path. I have a ton of respect for him. It’s crazy to think that eight years ago we were together, when we first got our start working together, putting in lots of hours.”

Nagy took over as Chicago's head coach last year.

This season, he has led the Bears to a surprising 12-4 record and an NFC North division title. With the third-ranked defense in the league and a four-game winning streak, Chicago certainly has the chance to make some noise in the playoffs.
