The Chicago Bears put forth an anemic offensive performance in their season-opening loss against the Green Bay Packers last week, scoring just three points in a seven-point defeat.

Throughout the contest, running back Tarik Cohen, who is one of the Bears' most valuable weapons, caught eight passes for 49 yards but did not register a single carry.

Some have questioned why head coach Matt Nagy did not put the ball in Cohen's hands as a rusher, but Cohen does not seem to care about his lack of carries in Week 1:

“I don’t play fantasy football — I don’t need stats,” Cohen told reporters, via the Bears' official YouTube account. “We just need the wins to get our ultimate goal. That’s why I feel like it’s not necessary for me to have to get the ball this many times to get in a rhythm.”

Cohen says he does not need to touch the ball, saying it's about the overall impact he has on the contest:

“However I can get the ball, or I’m making an impact on the game, that’s really what it’s all about — if I’m making an impact,” he said.

Cohen has never been a big-time rusher. He carried the ball just 99 times for 444 yards and three touchdowns last year, and during his rookie campaign in 2017, he totaled 87 attempts for 370 yards and a couple of scores.

But even if he doesn't get a ton of carries, just about everyone still expected him to get more than zero in the season opener.

Perhaps Chicago will make more use of Tarik Cohen when it heads on the road to take on the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
