Monster Hunter Rise finally launched last week after much fanfare. Fortunately, Capcom finished the development of the game with no issues. Nintendo Switch owners eagerly awaited the first Monster Hunter title crafted specifically for the Nintendo Switch. Now, a little over three days since the game's release,  Rise reached a milestone that arguably overshadows its predecessor Monster Hunter World.

MONSTER HUNTER RISE MILESTONE

Capcom released the latest MH title for the Nintendo Switch but that doesn't stop it from being successful. Four million sales within three days is a massive achievement for an essentially new take on the franchise. By comparison, MH World shipped five million copies between Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions when it launched.

Rise offers an experience vastly unique from Monster Hunter World. Regardless, it evidently succeeded in garnering the attention of Nintendo Switch owners everywhere. Previously, MHW stands as the most successful game in the franchise. Naturally, Rise enters the fight as a worthy contender for the top spot in the Monster Hunter franchise.

Capcom noted 66 million total units of Monster Hunter game sales across the series back in December 2020. Now, with the addition of Monster Hunter Rise's astounding figures, the series shipped well over 70 million units.

Rise managed to reach 4 million units within three days, it barely cleared one week and it already tacked on an achievement. Additionally, the clamor of the PC Monster Hunter players successfully compelled the developers to plan for a PC port of Rise. It wouldn't be unfair to assume that Rise will continue to grow successfully in the next few months.

Capcom plans for the release of a minor game in the franchise later this year. In late December of 2020, the film adaptation of Monster Hunter starring Mila Jovovich premiered. MH Stories 2: Wings of Ruin comes out on July 9, 2021, for PC and the Nintendo Switch. It's been an exciting couple of months for the franchise and Capcom in general. Hopefully, we'll see more of Rise's success in the coming weeks.
