Jaylen Brown has been nursing a hamstring injury in the last few weeks, missing a ton of games in the process. With the Boston Celtics struggling currently, fans have been wanting for the young forward to return. However, the organization is deciding to take a slower, more methodical approach to Brown's return.

Prior to their game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Celtics coach Ime Udoka told reporters about Jaylen Brown's status and when he'll return from injury. (via Keith Smith)

Ime Udoka says Jaylen Brown is at about 90%. Udoka said “He could play, if need be, but we're looking at a big picture approach and getting him healthy for the rest of the season.”

The Celtics are taking Brown's recovery seriously. Perhaps it's because of the severity of the injury, or it's just taking care of one of their franchise cornerstones. Either way, they're not looking to rush their star's return to the court. They are not in desperation mode, and rushing Brown's return could prove to be disastrous to the Celtics and their star.

In Jaylen Brown's absence, the Celtics have been maddeningly inconsistent. In their last game against the Los Angeles Lakers, nothing seemed to go right for them. Even Jayson Tatum's record-setting 14 straight first quarter points wasn't enough to put them over their long-time rivals. They'll go from world-beaters one day to struggling to beat bottom-feeder teams the next day.

Will Brown's return from injury help the Celtics regain some form of consistency? Perhaps, but the health of their stars should be their biggest concern. Besides, this stretch of games will also be an excellent learning point for the other Celtics players like Romeo Langford and Dennis Schroder.
