Sunday's high-octane matchup between the Boston Celtics and the New Orleans Pelicans went down the wire with neither team willing to give in an inch. The game needed an extra period to decide a winner as Jayson Tatum and Zion Williamson made sure that their respective teams were not going to lose in regulation.

Zion went first, scoring a crucial and1 basket with just 6.9 seconds remaining in the ballgame (h/t ClutchPoints on Twitter):

Williamson played bully ball and Tristan Thompson simply did not stand a chance.

Tatum answered back on the other end, tying the game with a tremendous solo effort:

With 6.1 seconds remaining and the ball in Tatum's hands, there was little doubt as to who was going to take the last shot for Boston. Tatum absolutely delivered on the clutch play.

The Pelicans were on the brink of defeat here with the Celtics amassing a significant lead in the second half. However, New Orleans mounted a huge comeback in the fourth period, outscoring Boston, 34-21, in the final frame.

Both Tatum and Williamson have had noteworthy efforts for their respective teams. It's like watching two heavyweights go toe-to-toe in a winner-take-all championship bout. What a contest this has turned out to be.
