Boston Celtics small forward Marcus Morris will play Monday night against the Orlando Magic despite experiencing some soreness in his knee, according to Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald.

Morris was able to do some running and pregame work, and he told head coach Brad Stevens he's good to go off the bench.

In the first three games of the season, Marcus Morris is averaging 13.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists while shooting 45.2 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from beyond the arc, and 100 percent from the free-throw line. The 29-year-old is playing roughly 24.0 minutes per game.

Morris is entering the final year of his contract with the Celtics. The swingman will earn $5.4 million this year. He and his brother, Washington Wizards forward Markieff Morris, signed with agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports Group in August. Paul, of course, represents Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James, Washington Wizards guard John Wall and Philadelphia 76ers point-forward Ben Simmons.

Marcus Morris is a sound player to have come off your bench because of his ability to score the basketball in bunches. He appeared in 54 games with the Celtics last season and posted 13.6 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game, shooting 42.9 percent overall and 36.8 percent from the 3-point line.
