It's been a little over four years ago when Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart took out his frustration on a poor piece of wall ornament shattered. Barely anyone thinks about that incident these days, but here we are remembering it after Smart casually made a stunning revelation about the lingering effect on his hand of that action.

Following the Celtics' 107-97 road win over the New Orleans Pelicans Saturday night, Smart revealed that his right hand has been constantly in pain ever since he punched a picture frame in 2018, mainly because there's still a piece (or pieces?) of glass in his hands.

Via Keith Smith:

Marcus Smart was asked if his right hand is sore: “Yeah, it gets like this ever since the picture frame incident. There's still some glass in there. The doctors said it would cause more issues to take it out, so I still have glass in there. Sometimes I can't really feel my hand.”

Smart went just 2/6 from the field for five points for the Celtics against the Pelicans, but you would not know he's dealing with pain in his hands based on the 12 assists he handed out in that game. That tied Smart's career-high for dimes dropped in a contest.

Smart is tough as nails.
