Prior to the start of the season, the Boston Celtics were tagged as the biggest threat to supplant the defending champion Golden State Warriors off their thrones.

However, a rough start to the campaign has raised many questions and concerns for the Celtics as they have struggled to get their chemistry on point. Nonetheless, this amazing hustle sequence in their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves shows what the Celtics are capable of:

The play started with a defensive effort from none other than Marcus Smart and finished with an alley-oop highlight from super sophomore Jayson Tatum.

Smart and Marcus Morris sparked the sequence with an amazing hustle play on defense. Smart initially disrupted a pass from Andrew Wiggins but did not gain full control of the basketball. Fortunately, Morris was able to salvage the play and tapped the ball to Smart, who was on the floor. Smart, while sitting on the court, flung a long pass to Jayson Tatum, and finished an alley-oop throw-down in transition after playing hot potato with Kyrie Irving.

The great thing about this play was that it started on defense. Head coach Brad Stevens might have pulled off another one of his tricks after inserting Smart into the starting lineup. Since then, Boston seems to have turned the corner and has won two convincing blowouts over the New Orleans Pelicans and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
