Tampa Bay Rays star Brandon Lowe was diagnosed with a stress reaction in his back on Tuesday. He is expected to miss a minimum of three weeks. However, the injury will likely keep him out even longer due to rehab stints and what not. This unfortunate news has Brandon Lowe fantasy baseball managers scrambling to find a replacement.

Lowe, who is eligible at second base and outfield in some leagues, might have been your starting second baseman or apart of your outfield core. So we are going to look at the top replacements for Lowe in your fantasy baseball league at both positions.

Andres Gimenez, CLE, 2B,SS

Andres Gimenez of the Cleveland Guardians is eligible at both of the middle infield spots and is off to a terrific start this season. He is settling into an every day role with Cleveland and is hitting over .320 with an OPS of over .900. The case can be made that Gimenez has been more valuable than the player the Guardians traded away to get him… Francisco Lindor.

Gimenez's roster percentage has increased in recent weeks. But he is worth adding if available in your league.

Gavin Lux, LAD, 2B, SS, OF

Gavin Lux is available at SS, 2B, and OF in most leagues. But his surface numbers don't look fantastic. He has a fairly decent .250 average and .340 OBP. Lux has also homered once and stolen 2 bases.

However, Gavin Lux is a valuable fantasy baseball commodity for two main reasons.

His multi-positional versatility is crucial. He can fill in at different spots which is always useful.

Additionally, Lux is apart of the deepest lineup in baseball. He is going to provide your team with runs scored and RBI's purely based on the Dodgers aspect of things. And he has shown signs of a potential breakout season, so Lux is certainly worth the add.

Brandon Nimmo, NYM, OF

For those fantasy baseball managers who had Lowe as an outfielder, Brandon Nimmo makes for a great replacement. He is quietly having an extremely productive season for the Mets. Nimmo is slashing .304/.414/.473 with an .887 OPS as of this story's publication. He has 20 walks compared to his 21 strikeouts.

The guy is an on-base machine. The fact that he is rostered in less than 50 percent of leagues according to Yahoo is surprising. Be sure to add him while you have the chance.
