With Hurricane Irma heading to Florida, residents of the cities where it is expected to hit are bracing themselves for the “superstorm” and are preparing their homes and other properties to lessen the damage. However, for Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside, he took a different approach, and still found a way to be hilarious despite the calamity striking soon.
The 28-year-old Marshall product has been known to be a fish lover, and over the past year has even been sharing videos of him talking to some of them. He did the same thing recently when he made a pep talk to the fishes in his pond, preparing them for the hurricane. Whiteside even gave one of them, named Tom Cruise, special instructions as he wanted him to look after the smaller fishes.

All jokes aside, Irma is a Category 5 hurricane, which poses a huge threat to lives and homes alike, as its strength could leave a huge part of Florida severely damaged. After seeing what happened to Houston and nearby areas, the last thing the U.S. needs right now is more victims from another powerful storm.
The National Hurricane Center has been releasing continuous updates of the hurricane's projected track in order to help the residents prepare better and find out when it’s going to hit their area. Hassan Whiteside may have been trying to be funny in his clip, but he also made a very serious reminder to his friend to respect the hurricane, as Mother Nature has proven that she can be destructive and leave thousands, and even millions needing help.
