Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade will be playing his final All-Star game in the NBA, and he has a request, or rather a demand to former teammate and Western Conference All-Stars captain, LeBron James.
Wade and James spent four years together with the Miami Heat, where they won two titles (2012, 2014). They are also close friends off the court, so it makes sense for D-Wade to want to play with one of his bestfriends in his final All-Star game.
Wade was initially out of the official list of the Eastern Conference All-Stars reserves, but NBA commissioner Adam Silver gave him and Dallas Mavericks' Dirk Nowitzki special roster spots for the All-Star game.
Both Wade and Nowitzki are expected to retire after this season.
Dubbed by many as one of the best shooting guards in NBA history, Wade has earned the respect and admiration of millions due to his superb basketball skills. Drafted fifth overall by the Heat in 2003, he immediately became a household name in Miami, especially after leading the franchise to a championship in just his third season.
His relationship with the Heat organization has had some rough stretches, which led to him playing small stretches of his career with the Chicago Bulls and the Cleveland Cavaliers, but he eventually came back to finish his career with the franchise that he carried in his shoulders over the past 15 years.
This is D-Wade's farewell season, and being part of the All-Star game for one last time is something that he rightfully deserves.
The All-Star draft will be nationally televised on February 7.
Better pick him, LeBron.
