The Miami Heat have traded shooting guard Tyler Johnson to the Phoenix Suns for forward Ryan Anderson, according to multiple reports.

The Heat have been trying to get off Johnson's contract for quite some time now. The guard is making $19,245,370 this season and has a player option worth $19,245,370 for next season.

In 44 games this season for the Heat, Tyler Johnson is averaging 10.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists per contest. The 26-year-old is shooting 42.6 percent from the field, 35.3 percent from beyond the arc and 69.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Miami signed Tyler Johnson to a four-year, $50 million deal back in the summer of 2016. It's a contract they probably regret giving since Johnson was never able to live up to the money. The four-year pro has spent his entire NBA career in South Beach, but now he's headed to Phoenix to play with Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton.

The Suns are 11-44 on the season, 15th place in the Western Conference standings. Adding Tyler Johnson to the roster will give Phoenix another ball handler so Booker doesn't have to initiate the offense every time down the floor.

Johnson has career averages of 11.0 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 257 games while shooting 43.7 percent overall.
