The prized possession of this off-season, or so it seems, is now Boston Celtics forward Gordon Hayward. After meetings with Boston, his original team the Utah Jazz and Miami Heat, Hayward chose the Celtics and signed a four-year, $128 million deal.

However, there was an interesting thing that happened in January of this year. During a Jazz-Celtics game at TD Garden, the home fans were cheering for Hayward, knowing he would be a target for the C's during the summer.

All that would be fine, but Celtics forward Jae Crowder had a bone to pick with Celtics fans, and had an interesting statement after the game.

“I heard the cheering before the game,” said Crowder to Adam Himmelsbach from the Boston Globe. “I didn't like that at all. I think it was a sign of disrespect to me from the fans. That sparked a little fire in me.”

Now, Crowder and Hayward are on the same team and the media is interested in the relationship between the two forwards. Celtics star Isaiah Thomas was asked about the incident, and he downplayed any potential beef between the two.

“Nah, we tryna win a championship,” said Thomas, in an short interview with A. Sherrod Blakely from CSN North East. “We put all that aside. We're gonna try to figure faster, I mean sooner rather than later. And then try to compete for a championship. All those other things, I think it goes out the window now that you're teammates.”

In essence, Thomas is right. This was a minor issue and it even wasn't between Hayward and Crowder. Crowder had no problem with Hayward, rather with the crowd who was cheering an opposing player.
