Through the early goings of the 2017 Summer League, Boston Celtics rookie forward Jayson Tatum has been one of the best performers.

In his first back-to-back under an NBA setting, Tatum finally felt the feeling of how it is to play the second game of that set, according to ESPN.

“The back-to-back, the quick turnaround, I definitely felt it today, sluggish and tired,” Tatum said. “But we got the win.”

The 19-year-old did show obvious signs of some fatigue on the floor that affected his game scoring just 11 points on 4-of-11 shooting from the field with seven rebounds in 28 minutes played.

This will quickly become the norm for Tatum once the NBA season begins as there will be stretches where the Celtics will have a stacked schedule that will test him both physically and mentally. This should indubitably lead to him hitting the proverbial “rookie wall” at some point during the season.

That said, he won't have the weight of the franchise on his shoulders to carry a significant role on the team from the get-go. The Celtics possess a strong roster led by their big three in Isaiah Thomas, Gordon Hayward, and Al Horford who can be the primary offensive contributors.

That alone should help allow him to find his footing in the NBA with much more ease. All in all, Tatum has gotten a little taste of what to expect in his rookie season.
