JR Smith does not seem to have luck on his side in his first-ever college golf tournament. Apart from struggling in the tourney, the two-time NBA champion accidentally stepped in a beehive while looking for his ball, according to Jared Bunder.

@TheRealJRSmith gets the medical cart called in after stepping on a bee hive while searching for his ball in the woods. Currently on the 12th hole and now letting other groups play through while he’s being evaluated.

We're just not sure whether what stings more for JR Smith. Was it the fact that he went 12-over-par 83 in the first round and then 7-over-par 78 in the next round or the angry bees, whose habitat he just went full Gulliver's Travels on?

Surely, the bees did not care whether JR Smith used to play for the New Orleans Hornets. (Hornets and Bees are from the same order of Hymenoptera — guess, the more you know…) They just want to seek immediate retribution for the damage he had done to their home.

Even though he's not having much success early on in his collegiate golfing career, don't expect JR Smith to stop trying. It took him several years in the NBA before he claimed his first of two NBA titles with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016.

He's not Tiger Woods just yet, but if there's one thing we know about JR Smith, it's that there's not a shot he won't take.
