As the New York Knicks look for a new coach, one person they haven't reached out to is ESPN announcer Jeff Van Gundy.

The New York Daily News had previously reported that the Knicks had reached out to Jeff Van Gundy's camp to gauge interest but now that doesn't appear to be the case.

For Van Gundy, he hasn't been a head coach in the league since the 2006-07 season and seems to be content with his job as an analyst for ESPN.

He did get his start in the NBA with the Knicks starting as an assistant coach in the 1989-90 season. He took over as head coach in the 1995-96 season coaching the teams last 23 games. His best season as head coach was in 1999 leading the Knicks to the Knicks to an appearance in the NBA Finals.

After 19 games in the 2000-01 season, Van Gundy unexpectedly resigned from the Knicks and was out of coaching until 2003 when he was hired on with the Rockets. He never lived up to expectations with them and was fired at the end of the 2007 season.

Along with being an NBA analyst, Van Gundy has gotten back into coaching a bit. He was the head coach for Team USA at the 2017 FIBA AmeriCup and he will also coach at the qualifiers for the 2019 FIBA Cup.

For now though, even if he was offered the Knicks job, it is still unclear if that is something he would be even interested in pursuing.
