New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau is pulling his weight in attempting to turn around an uninspiring organization by improving their play on the court. He furthered those measures on Sunday after the Knicks put a 30-point beatdown on the Boston Celtics.

During his postgame press conference, Thibodeau made sure to save face by giving off his usual “never impressed” front while giving the cameras a heartfelt smile. The 6-8 squad also made sure to celebrate Thibodeau's birthday following the pummeling.

The Knicks have been through a slew of head coaches in recent memory, and Thibodeau is one of the more decorated of the batch. Thibodeau, 63, previously coached the Chicago Bulls and Minnesota Timberwolves before landing with New York last year.

The Knicks jumped out to a healthy start on the Celtics on Sunday from the opening minutes, and Boston was never able to fully recover or rally in enough time.

While the Knicks were given their normal failing grades for the offseason after failing to nab premier stars, their subprime talent has been more than plentiful so far. Julius Randle has been phenomenal, leading the Knicks in scoring, rebounds and assists throughout their first stretch of the season.

He finished Sunday with 20 points, 12 rebounds and four assists, all resembling his season averages on a nightly basis so far. Knocking off a contending team in the Celtics is definitely an accomplishment, but the Knicks still have much work to do if they plan to make the playoffs for the first time in years.
