Andrei Vasilevskiy finally got going again for the Tampa Bay Lightning, as the veteran netminder manufactured his first shutout of the 2023-24 NHL season by blanking the Dallas Stars in a 4-0 home win on Monday. Vasilevskiy clearly played a huge role in the Bolts' victory, but he's not one to hug the limelight alone.

“I thought tonight the whole team played great,” Vasilevskiy following the win, per the Associated Press (h/t ESPN). “Great result because of that.”

Andrei Vasilevskiy, who is still trying to get back to 100 percent form after an offseason surgery, turned away all of the Stars' 25 shots on goal. It was also just the second win of the Lightning this season with Vasilevskiy in front of the net. The first one was during his season debut late last November versus the Carolina Hurricanes on the road. So far in this campaign, the 29-year-old Vasilevskiy is sporting a 2-3-09 record to go with 3.03 goals allowed per game and a .887 saves percentage.

Lightning skaters also made life easier for Andrei Vasilevskiy, as they provided him with a 2-0 lead by the end of the first period. The Stars had two power-play chances but were not able to get off a shot on the man advantage.

With their win against the Stars, Vasilevskiy and the Lighting snapped a four-game losing skid and improved to an 11-10-5 record. They still have plenty of catching up to do as Tampa Bay is still just fifth in the Atlantic Division. The Bolts will play the Pittsburgh Penguins at home on Wednesday next.
