Monster Hunter Rise gets its second free content update as part of the Capcom Collabs series. This time, hunters get to be blessed by the Sun Goddess, Amaterasu.

Monster Hunter Rise Okami Capcom Collabs 2 will bring the divine and powerful Amaterasu to Capcom's latest hit. This follows the first Capcom Collabs content update last June, where content from Monster Hunter Stories 2 found its way to MH Rise. While the earlier collaboration focused on giving your Palico a makeover, this one focuses on your Palamute. If you missed that Special Event, you can still do the special event quest to unlock the Tsukino Costume through the Bird Wyverns of Ruin? Special Event.

For the unfamiliar, the Palamute is the hunter's new companion in Monster Hunter Rise, a hound-like creature that players can ride to battle. The Palamute gives hunters better mobility on the map and serve as a loyal and powerful companion while hunting large monsters.

Capcom Collabs 2 focuses on giving your Palamute a makeover

Now, given that the Capcom Collabs 2 will have Okami collaborating with Monster Hunter Rise, it's obvious where it's going. The Sun Goddess Amaterasu arrives on Monster Hunter Rise, but not as an enemy, but as a comrade. Unfortunately, we don't get to play ball with Amaterasu herself. Instead, we get a Sun Goddess Amaterasu armor for our Palamute.

To unlock the Sun Goddess Amaterasu armor for your Palamute, you'll have to complete the Okami collaboration event during the game's event period. The reward will be a Layered Armor – purely cosmetic with no stats. This means that while your Palamute will start looking divine and regal like Amaterasu, the Sun Goddess' powers aren't necessarily imbued on your companion. You'll still have to collect armor materials for your Palamute to make them effective in batle.

Monster Hunter Rise Okami Capcom Collabs 2 Release Date: July 30, 2021

The Monster Hunter Rise Okami Capcom Collab 2 event will launch on July 30, 2021. Once the date rolls in, players will be able to update their game to the newest version. This will allow them to download the DLC for free.

More accurately, players will be able to earn the “Ammy costume” layered armor for their Palamutes through this collab event. Riding your Palamute with the Ammy Costume on will also have a custom effect. While riding the Palamute, it will leave lotus flowers in its wake in some areas. The effects are reportedly different based on the locale. It will use three Divine Instruments to help you in your hunts: a Reflector, a Rosary, and a Glaive!

Prior to the Capcom Collab 2 event, there's also a smaller content pack that Monster Hunter Rise fans can download as early as July 29. Three different stickers can be downloaded then.

Meanwhile, for the rest of the Capcom Collabs, there are five more coming this year. Capcom Collab 3 will come out on August. Meanwhile, Capcom Collab 4 and 5 will be available later this Fall 2021.
