Juan Soto is MLB's biggest name at the moment. The outfielder began trending after he reportedly turned down a $440 million dollar extension from the Washington Nationals. This led many to believe that the Nationals will trade him ahead of the 2022 MLB trade deadline. Soto didn't let the trade rumors get to his head, however, and won the 2022 Home Run Derby. The 23-year old is a star in every sense of the word. Soto's agent Scott Boras commented on the outfielder' market value, per MLB insider Hector Gomez.

“He's at the top, he is the best of the best, nobody in his first four years has had the success that he has had at that age, he is a great value for any franchise. We'll see which team will pay what he is worth”

It's rare that a 23-year old with his ability is even on the trade block. So there is no set precedent for Juan Soto's looming value on the market. But we can guess that it will be incredibly immense. Teams may need to surrender multiple top 20 prospects in order to entice the Washington Nationals.

Soto has been called the Ted Williams of our generation. He is a pure hitter who features power and contact ability. He is also mature beyond his years.

Jomboy Media's Trevor Plouffe put it in perspective. He said that teams should be willing to surrender prospect capital for Juan Soto, because teams are hoping their top prospects become one-third the player Soto is.

Juan Soto is a franchise-changing talent. Scott Boras knows it, fans know it, players know it, and the media knows it.
