All-Star point guard Kemba Walker is favored to re-sign with the Charlotte Hornets this summer, per BetOnline.ag.
Walker, who has spent his entire NBA career with the Hornets, is at a +100 by the betting site to stay in Charlotte.
The Los Angeles Lakers are at a +150 to sign Walker, who becomes an unrestricted free agent this offseason for the first time in his career.
Walker averaged 25.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game this season while shooting 43.4 percent from the field, 35.6 percent from beyond the arc and 84.4 percent from the free-throw line.
The Hornets can offer Walker the supermax contract, which would pay Kemba around $221 million over five years. The most money Walker can get from another team on the open market is roughly $140 million over four years.
Article Continues BelowWalker is one of the best point guards in the league. He's only made the playoffs twice since coming into the NBA back in 2011. The bettors clearly think the supermax will persuade Walker to stay with the Hornets even though they aren't close to being a contender.
The other star point guard entering free agency this summer is Boston Celtics All-Star Kyrie Irving. If Walker decides to leave Charlotte, he will likely wait and see what Kyrie does first.
Both Walker and Irving have been linked to the Lakers and Knicks.
