Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard put on quite a show in Friday night's 118-100 win over the Sacramento Kings. In fact, the former No. 6 pick in the 2012 Draft racked up 50 points in three quarters of action, which prompted the Kings' social media page to waive a proverbial white flag.

As most hoops fans know, Lillard, now 27 years of age, is one of the best guards in today's NBA. However, what those same fans might not know is that he's also gifted with bars, hence the funny message from the Kings' Twitter account. Lillard scored 22 points in the third quarter of Friday night's game. Though he only played in the first three frames, he managed to finish with 50 points on 16-26 shooting from the field (8-13 from beyond the arc), six assists, one rebound, and three steals. And just for the record, he was perfect from the stripe (10-10).

“I saw we were up 20 and I was like, ‘OK, if we keep this lead, there's really no reason to go back in there,” Lillard told ESPN after Friday's game. “I'd rather have a 50 in 29 minutes with some character than go out there and chase 60. I feel like that's bad karma.”

Lillard joined teammate CJ McCollum and Houston Rockets guard James Harden as the only players to score 50 points through three quarters this season, according to ESPN.com.

“When a guard's got it going like that, it's tough to stop,” Kings guard De'Aaron Fox said of Lillard. “All you can do is try to contain him. It's not much you can do about it.”

The Kings, now the fourth-ranked team in the Pacific Division with a 17-37 overall record, will be back in action on Sunday, as they're scheduled to face the Minnesota Timberwolves inside the Target Center. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. EST.
