The Florida Panthers are making some key changes to their lineup ahead of Monday night as they face elimination against the Tampa Bay Lightning. Down 3-0 and on the verge of a humiliating series sweep, the Panthers are turning to some different faces to provide the offense with a boost. According to the team, Anton Lundell and Joe Thornton are set to return to the lineup for Game 4.

To make room for Lundell and Thornton on the roster, both Anthony Duclair and Ryan Lomberg will be inactive as healthy scratches for the Panthers on Monday night in what could be the team's final game of the season.

Despite ending the regular season as Presidents' Trophy winners, the Panthers' offense has all but vanished during the playoffs, particularly in the second round against Tampa Bay, where the team has scored just three goals in as many games. While Duclair was one of Florida's few goalscorers in the series, head coach Andrew Brunette seems to think the team will fare better with Lundell coming up to replace him.
Thornton, who is 42 and widely expected to retire at the end of this season, could very well be making his final appearance in an NHL game on Monday night, should the Panthers fail to pull off a win in Tampa.
Lundell, 20, will look to provide an offensive spark for a team that's scored just one power-play goal all postseason. In his rookie year in 2021-22, Lundell scored 18 goals and added 26 assists across 65 games, and will hopefully make a difference for the Panthers with their backs against the wall.
