The New York Rangers knew that if they were to force a Game 7 in the first round of the 2022 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs against the Pittsburgh Penguins, they had to believe in themselves. That sounds so cliche, but it gets a team positive results, which in the case of the Rangers, was a 5-3 win in Game 6 on the road Friday night.

In one instance during the game, Rangers left-winger Chris Kreider grabbed a tablet out of center Mike Zibanejad's hands and threw the gadget to the ground, which the former would later explain as a way for him to get rid of any doubt from his teammate's mind.

Via Dan Rosen of NHL.com:

Why did Chris Kreider rip the iPad out of Mika Zibanejad's hands tonight and throw it hard onto the ground: “He was looking at the breakaway and I heard him start second guessing his move and didn't really like that. He beat him clean, hit the post. Don't need to second guess.”

Kreider and Zibanejad ended up with the top two performances of the night, as they earned first and second star honors, respectively. After going down 0-2 in the contest, Zibanejad gave the Rangers big shots in the arm with two goals in the second period. Kreider also finished with two goals, including the game-winner that gave his team the lead for good.

The Rangers can complete the comeback in Game 7 at Madison Square Garden this coming Sunday.
