In a statement told to Serena Winters of NBC Sports Philadelphia via Twitter, Philadelphia 76ers budding superstar Ben Simmons claimed that he doesn't want to be boxed into any one position.
Ben Simmons: "I don’t look at myself as a point guard or a power forward or anything like that. I’m a player. I just want to be an all-around player, I don’t want to limit myself to any one position." #Sixers

The 76ers just defeated Melbourne United of the NBL, 104-84, in their pre-season opener on Friday.
The Sixers phenom put on a show, teasing us of what his sophomore campaign would look like. He displayed the entire arsenal on Friday as he finished the game with a near triple-double, tallying eight points, eight rebounds, and 14 assists in 26 minutes of action.
Simmons is certainly as unique a talent as they come in the NBA. Simmons is a beast on the offensive end, and is no slack on defense either.
The 2017-18 Rookie of the Year took no time in showcasing to the league his unique versatility as he averaged an impressive near triple-double of 15.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 8.2 assists per game. Moreover, he also did some work on the defensive end, averaging 1.7 steals and nearly one block a game.
Simmons boasts a rare package of size and strength, mixed with speed and quickness that makes him one of the most versatile players in the game. The Aussie-born stud is crazy athletic and fast for a guy who stands 6-foot-10 and weighs 230-pounds. This, along with his excellent court vision and passing skills, helps him set up his teammates with ease. Moreover, his unique versatility gives him the capability to be able to defend from one through five.
With a full season under his belt, and a strong summer of work and development, Simmons looks to further prove why he is already one of the best players in the league.
