Surprise, surprise: the NBA’s biggest names are driving the highest ticket prices on the secondary market this season.
Kevin Durant sent seismic shockwaves across the league earlier over the summer after announcing his intention to sign with the Golden State Warriors. With Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green already highlighting the Western Conference champion roster, it comes as no surprise that the Warriors will play in seven of the 10 most expensive games this season.
Prepare to pay up both at home and on the road when looking for Warriors tickets throughout the 2016-17 NBA season. The top-priced NBA ticket this season will be for a March 5 game against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden. On TicketIQ, that game currently averages $780.14 and the get-in price, or cheapest available ticket, is $257. An NBA Finals rematch in Oakland is scheduled for January 16, where tickets own a secondary market average of $693.94 and a $276 get-in price.

In addition to the Warriors, the Knicks will host three other top-priced games this season. They’ll take on the Cavaliers at home on December 7 in the fourth most expensive game, where Knicks tickets at Madison Square Garden average $669.38 and the get-in price is $211. A Yuletide matchup with the Celtics follows right behind ($646.48 avg./$250 get-in), as well as a second meeting with the Cavaliers on February 4 ($630.30 avg./$201 get-in).
Durant’s return to Oklahoma City is also sparking big ticket demand at Chesapeake Energy Arena. The Thunder will host the Warriors on February 11 in what will be the third most expensive game of the season. Thunder tickets to Durant’s first game in Oklahoma City now average $673.38 and the cheapest tickets are listed from $199.
Among other teams set to host top games are the Spurs and Nets, who each welcome the Warriors during the season. The Spurs take on the Warriors at home on March 11 and tickets average $584.27, with a $150 get-in price. The Nets greet the Warriors on December 22 at Barclays Center. That game owns a $556.23 average and the cheapest tickets are going for $155 each.
