Former NFL defensive back Charles Woodson thinks that the grind of the league is starting to catch up with New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

The Patriots suffered their second straight defeat in a 17-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, which has many wondering if this New England team is capable of getting back to another Super Bowl this season.

One person that is chiming in on the matter is Woodson, who turned his focus to Brady's recent play and why the countless hits may be taking their toll on him at this stage of his career.

Here's what Woodson had to say about Brady's situation, courtesy of Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk:

“I just think the NFL is catching up to Tom Brady,” Woodson said. “I think he’s actually starting to feel all the hits, all the sacks of the NFL. It happens to every player. It happened to myself as a player . . . at some point in time it just catches up with you.”

Playing so many competitive years in the NFL is bound to cause changes in the way you play the game, and it's no surprise that Woodson would use his own experience in making comparisons to where Brady is at right now.

Of course, Brady has still managed to throw for 3,979 yards and 24 touchdowns this season, and that's been enough to put the Patriots in another fine spot heading into the postseason push.

With remaining games against the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets, Brady and company should be able to get on track before the playoffs.
