UFC heavyweight contender Francis Ngannou met the Philadelphia 76ers' Joel Embiid in Boston, and the Cameroonian center had just the right amount of confidence to say that he could “kick his ass” inside the octagon.

Ngannou visited Embiid in the Equinox Sports Club in Boston Massachusetts to say hello to his countryman. After exchanging cordialities, Ngannou joked that Embiid should be his next opponent in a UFC match. But Embiid had the nastiest response.

“I think I'd kick his ass. I think I'd kick his ass. I'm pretty big too.”

A round of laughter followed then Ngannou gave the appropriate comeback.

“I don't think so.”

Here's a video of the whole encounter.

The Cameroonian athletes were obviously just playing around. They definitely looked like they admired each other's discipline in their respective fields.

Embiid had just been named as a starter for the All-Star Game, which will be played on Feb. 18 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

What makes this feat more incredible is Embiid's NBA journey. The Sixers center was ruled out for the first few seasons of his career because of a foot injury. It was only until the 2016-17 campaign that he has graced the NBA court — still in a limited manner.

But after years of trusting the process, Embiid is now a threat to all NBA teams. He is averaging 23.9 points and 11 rebounds per game for the Sixers this season.

On the other hand, Ngannou will fight Stipe Miocic for the UFC heavyweight belt — the main event of UFC 220 in Boston. Many have even regarded the fight as the biggest in UFC history.
