The rich just got richer. The North Carolina Tar Heels, who made it to the NCAA championship game this past season, just made recruiting waves on Wednesday. Five-star recruit GG Jackson, who was also considering the rival Duke Blue Devils, has announced his commitment to the Tar Heels, as reported by 247 Sports.

Jackson, who is ranked no. 5 in 247 Sports' rankings, will be wearing Tar Heels blue in 2022. The five-star recruit is a 6-foot 9 forward who possesses elite athleticism and can attack defenders off of the dribble, giving him a strong offensive arsenal.

Apparently, Jackson listened when Tar Heels star Armando Bacot pitched to him on North Carolina, as the latter tweeted at the top recruit to “give the people what they want.”

Jackson has done just that, as he has become the highest-ranked recruit in the Hubert Davis era at North Carolina. The fact that the Tar Heels beat out Duke for his services just makes it that much sweeter.

Jackson figures to give Davis and the Heels one of the better frontcourts in the nation alongside Bacot, who is returning next season. Even after advancing to their third national championship since 2015, things continue to look up for North Carolina after they reeled in top recruit GG Jackson.
