As the Minnesota Vikings continue to prepare for their upcoming Week 3 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, there is still doubt on whether running back Dalvin Cook will feature in this key contest.

Cook suffered a minor ankle sprain injury during the Vikings' recent dramatic road loss against the Arizona Cardinals. The veteran running back still managed to finish the game with 148 yards from scrimmage, with 131 of them coming on the ground.

Cook did not practice on Wednesday and Thursday, although he did get some work in during the Vikings' scheduled practice session on Friday. For the moment, he is being listed as questionable for the team's clash with Seattle.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer provided a notable update on Cook's injury during a press conference on Friday, where he noted that the two-time Pro Bowler is “doing much better.”

Zimmer went on to add that although Cook missed several key practices this week, he would feel comfortable with giving him the green light to play against the Seahawks should he be ready for the contest.

If Cook ends up being ruled out for Minnesota's upcoming showdown with the Seahawks, then backup running back Alexander Mattison is expected to see an increase in workload for this game. He has only recorded 13 rushing yards over two games played so far this season.

For now, all eyes are centered on whether Cook will be a full go against Seattle.
